Nike Air Force 1 ’07 — Dark Green Brown Gum Sole Color-Block
Three materials, three natural sources. Dark green takes its reference from forest canopy and deep foliage — a saturated green with enough darkness to carry weight without reading as bright or seasonal. Brown occupies the leather, soil, and wood register: warm, muted, and anchored in the material world that athletic footwear has historically drawn from. The gum sole is the third element, and it is not simply a color choice. Gum is natural rubber in its unprocessed state — the amber-translucent tone that raw latex produces before pigment is introduced. A gum sole on a dark-toned upper is one of the most established combinations in AF1 and basketball sneaker history, carrying associations with the original 1982 Air Force 1 release and decades of subsequent builds that have used gum to signal material authenticity. On this build, gum sole extends the natural-material logic of the upper all the way to the ground contact point: dark green references vegetation, brown references earth and leather, and gum references the tree-derived material that the sole itself is made from. The Color-Block panel construction on the upper distributes dark green and brown across the AF1’s lateral zones, keeping each color in a distinct panel region defined by the shoe’s seam structure. The gum midsole and outsole form a continuous natural-tone base beneath the two-color upper, completing the palette’s material narrative at the sole.
- Dark green panels — deep forest-register green with enough saturation to read as a distinct color and enough darkness to anchor the upper without competing with the gum sole’s amber tone; dark green sits at the cooler end of the natural palette, providing the build’s chromatic anchor
- Brown panels — warm earth and leather tone occupying the mid-value range; brown bridges the cool-leaning dark green and the warm amber gum sole, functioning as the palette’s thermal center and the material reference most directly associated with the AF1’s leather construction history
- Gum sole — natural rubber in unprocessed amber-translucent tone; the gum sole is not a color applied to the sole but the actual appearance of the material itself, making it the most literal natural-material element in the build and completing the three-way natural-source palette at ground level
- Color-Block panel construction — dark green and brown are distributed across separate panel zones on the upper, with each color occupying a defined region separated by the AF1’s construction seams; the two-color upper reads clearly against the single-tone gum sole beneath it
- Natural material palette — dark green (vegetation), brown (earth and leather), and gum (rubber) each reference a distinct natural material source; the three-element palette is unified by the absence of any synthetic or achromatic color and by the shared muted, organic character of all three tones
- Classic Air Force 1 ’07 low-top silhouette with encapsulated Nike Air cushioning and durable rubber outsole
- Available in EU sizes 35–47
